Today and tomorrow our students in Grades 2–5 will be participating in TELPAS and STAAR Interim testing. We are so proud of how hard they have been working!
As shared in this week’s newsletter, to help us create a calm and focused testing environment, family lunches are paused this week, including dropping off outside food during lunch time. We truly appreciate your understanding and partnership in protecting instructional and testing time for all students.
Here are a few simple ways you can help set your child up for success:
• Ensure they get a good night’s sleep
• Provide a healthy breakfast (or encourage them to eat at school)
• Send them to school on time
• Offer calm encouragement — remind them to try their best and show what they know

At Pine Burr Elementary, we love our pets and appreciate the joy animals bring to our community. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in dogs around campus, including some showing aggressive behavior.
For the safety of our students, families, and staff, we kindly ask that pets remain at home during school hours or, if brought near campus, are always kept on a leash and under control.
