This week, we need everyone’s help increasing student attendance. Every school day matters, and consistent attendance gives students the time and support they need to grow. Unless your child is sick, please make every effort to have them at school and on time each day.

Dear Families,
All buses are currently running approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour behind schedule this afternoon. Please know that all students are safe and supervised on campus while they wait for their buses. At this time only buses 2501, 2507, 2503 A and
1702 have left.
If you choose to pick up your child from school instead, you must bring a physical photo ID so we can safely release your child.

I want to provide clarification regarding the lockdown alarm that was activated at approximately 3:40 p.m. today.
The alert was triggered while our staff was responding to a student who had left their assigned classroom area and required immediate staff support and supervision. Students and staff were safe at all times, and there was no external threat to our campus.
We are currently looking into why our emergency communication platform triggered a lockdown alarm rather than a lower-level alert for this situation. Our team followed the safety protocol associated with the alert while ensuring all students remained safe and supervised.
I also understand that hearing a lockdown alarm and following lockdown procedures may have caused stress or worry for some of our children, even though they were safe. Please reassure your child that their teachers and staff followed our safety procedures exactly as they are trained to do and that there was no threat to the school.
I recognize that families may also be concerned that they did not receive communication immediately. Had this been an actual emergency or threat to our campus, families would have been notified through our emergency communication procedures as information became available and it was safe to communicate. Today, our immediate focus was addressing the student safety situation and determining why the system generated a lockdown-level alert.
I appreciate your patience as we review what occurred. Most importantly, all of our students and staff are safe, and the situation has been resolved.

📱 Personal Communication Devices - State Law Reminder
Texas Education Code Sec. 37.082 establishes statewide expectations regarding student use of personal communication devices during the school day.
To help ensure a focused learning environment, students may not use personal communication devices while on school property during the instructional day. Devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds/headphones, tablets, and similar electronic devices, must remain stored in the student's backpack unless otherwise directed by school staff.
This policy applies to all Cleveland ISD campuses and is designed to:
• 📚 Minimize classroom distractions
• 👩🏫 Maximize instructional time
• 🎯 Keep students engaged in learning
• 🏫 Ensure consistency with Texas law
Please take a moment to review the attached graphic with your student. We appreciate the partnership of our families as we work together to provide the best possible learning environment for every student.

Esta noche recibimos a nuestras familias de 3.º a 5.º grado para nuestra primera Noche de Academia para Familias, y nos dio muchísimo gusto ver a tantas familias acompañándonos.
Conversamos, hicimos preguntas, aprendimos juntos y, sobre todo, nos unimos alrededor de algo que todos compartimos: queremos lo mejor para nuestros niños.
Gracias a cada mamá, papá, abuelo, familiar, estudiante y miembro de nuestro personal que compartió parte de su noche con nosotros. Sabemos que las tardes pueden ser muy ocupadas, y valoramos mucho que hayan hecho el tiempo para acompañarnos.

What a great evening at Pine Burr!
Tonight we welcomed our 3rd–5th grade families for our first Family Academy Night, and we loved seeing so many of you there.
We talked, asked questions, learned together, and most importantly, connected around the one thing we all have in common, wanting the very best for our children.
Thank you to every parent, grandparent, family member, student, and staff member who spent part of their evening with us. We know evenings are busy, and it means a lot that you made the time to be here.
We want Pine Burr to be a school where families feel comfortable asking questions, learning alongside us, and being part of their child's education. Our children do better when school and home work together.
